Crossfield Gas Storage is located 50 km (31 miles) north of Calgary, Alta., holds 68 bcf (billion cubic feet) of natural gas. This facility was acquired by TransCanada in 2012.
A depleted reservoir facility storing gas in what was originally a naturally occurring gas reservoir.
For families who rely on Alberta natural gas for cooking and home heating, the facility ensures that a sustainable supply is always available, even during cold snaps and usage peaks.
