Overview 

With a history of safe nuclear generation dating to 1967, Bruce Power currently supplies roughly 30% of Ontario’s electricity. In 2015, the plant entered into a long-term contract with the Provincial government extending its life to 2064, ensuring a stable source of carbon-free electricity for decades. This will see billions invested in refurbishments over the coming decades, providing hundreds of jobs for workers in surrounding communities.

One of the world’s largest nuclear generating facilities, Bruce Power directly employs 4,000 highly skilled workers, with thousands more spinoff jobs in many surrounding communities. What’s more, more than 90% of employees own a part of the company.

$50,000 annual investment in local students

Since 2011, our company has offered one hundred $500 scholarships for post-secondary students in the Bluewater public, Bruce Grey Catholic and Avon Maitland District School Board.

Indigenous Scholarships

In 2015, Bruce Power launched two new Indigenous Scholarship Programs to assist post-secondary students as they further their studies. Ten, $2,000 scholarships are awarded for qualified students each year. Learn how to apply.

 

Girls Soccer 

More than $1.3 million donated to our communities each year

Bruce Power makes giving back a part of how it does business. One such example is a $100,000 donation for a new soccer field complex in Walkerton, Ontario.
