Safety and stability
Nothing is more important than the safe operation of our pipelines, storage and power-generation facilities. With 60% of our employees in maintenance and operations, ensuring everyone makes it home to their families after a day’s work is our goal.
Amazingly, in 2009 alone, roughly 1,800 Operations and Engineering employees recorded zero lost-time injuries for the second time in four years. Considering nearly 3.5 million work hours were logged that year, it’s quite an impressive feat.

Russell K. Girling
TransCanada, President and CEO
Russ Girling has been President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since July 1, 2010. He has led TransCanada Corporation through a period of unprecedented growth, including the development of its Liquids Pipelines business, expansion of its power generation portfolio and the successful US$13 billion acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group in July 2016.
Previously, Mr. Girling held the positions of Chief Operating Officer; President, Pipelines; Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development; Chief Financial Officer; and Executive Vice-President, Power.
Stanley (Stan) G. Chapman, III
Executive Vice-President and President, U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines
Stanley G. Chapman, III was appointed chairman of the General Partner for TC Pipelines GP, Inc., effective January 1, 2019. In addition, Mr. Chapman serves as Executive Vice-President and President of U.S. Natural Gas Pipelines for TransCanada Corporation since April 2017 where he is responsible for all pipeline operations and commercial activities across TransCanada’s FERC-regulated transmission and storage assets, as well as its unregulated midstream business.
Prior to that he served as TransCanada’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of its FERC-regulated US natural gas pipeline business. Before joining TransCanada in July 2016 as part of the Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG) acquisition, Mr. Chapman served as Columbia’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. Previous to joining CPG in December 2011, Mr. Chapman held various positions of increasing responsibility with El Paso Corp and Tenneco Energy and was responsible for various marketing and commercial operations, as well as supply, regulatory, business development and optimization activities. Mr. Chapman is a vice-chairman of the Board of Directors for the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, a current member and past executive committee member of the Society of Gas Lighters, and a member of the International Association for Energy Economics.
Mr. Chapman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University as well as a Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of St. Thomas.
Paul Miller
Executive Vice-President, Technical Centre and President, Liquids Pipelines
As Executive Vice-President, Technical Centre and President, Liquids Pipelines, Paul Miller is responsible for the Company’s Liquids transportation business. He also has overall responsibility for the Company’s Technical Centre which provides the governance, technical support and operational and resource management systems for the Company’s business streams.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Miller was Senior Vice-President, Oil Pipelines, accountable for the profitability and commercial management of TransCanada’s oil pipelines.
Donald R. Marchand
Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer
As Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Don Marchand is responsible for financial reporting, taxation, finance, treasury, risk management and investor relations for TransCanada Corporation.
He was named Chief Financial Officer in July 2010 and, prior to his appointment as CFO, he was Vice-President, Finance and Treasurer overseeing the company’s finance, treasury, trading and financial risk and pension asset management functions.
Kristine Delkus
Executive Vice-President, Stakeholder Relations and General Counsel
As Executive Vice-President, Stakeholder Relations and General Counsel, Kristine has overall responsibility for the management of TransCanada’s Legal, Internal Audit, Indigenous Relations, Government Relations, Communications and Community Engagement functions. She also serves as Chief Compliance Officer for the company.
Since joining the company in June 1995, Ms. Delkus has held a variety of progressively senior roles with the organization. Other roles at TransCanada have included Senior Vice- President, Pipelines Law and Regulatory Affairs; Vice-President, Gas Transmission Law; Vice- President, Power and Regulatory Law; Vice-President, Law, Trading & Business Development; Associate General Counsel, U.S. Regulatory Law and North American Pipeline Ventures; and Senior Legal Counsel, U.S. Regulatory Law.
Wendy Hanrahan
Executive Vice-President, Corporate Services
As Executive Vice-President, Corporate Services, Wendy Hanrahan provides strategic and functional leadership for human resources, business process integration, information systems, supply chain management, aviation, and facilities services.
Since joining the Company in 1995, Ms. Hanrahan has held a variety of key leadership roles in finance and accounting, corporate strategy, human resources, and in the gas transmission business. She also served as Vice-President, TC PipeLines, LP.
Francois Poirier
Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development and Strategy and President, Mexico Natural Gas Pipelines and Energy
As Executive Vice-President, Corporate Development and Strategy and President, Mexico Natural Gas Pipelines and Energy, Mr. Poirier provides leadership in the development of TransCanada’s long-term strategy and all corporate development activities, as well as overseeing enterprise risk management across the corporation. He is also responsible for all aspects of our power generation, unregulated gas storage and Mexico gas businesses, including commercial, business development, project, regulatory and operating functions.
Tracy Robinson
Executive Vice-President and President, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines
As Executive Vice-President and President, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines, Tracy Robinson has overall accountability for the growth, operation and profitability of TransCanada’s federally and provincially regulated natural gas pipeline assets in Canada.
Since joining TransCanada in 2014, Ms. Robinson has served as Vice-President, Transportation for the Liquid Pipelines business unit; Vice-President, Supply Chain; and Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines.
